It's no secret.  Your editor and the Elves love to share interesting posts dedicated to the department stores of yesteryear--foreign or domestic--it makes no difference to us. 

Yes, most of us remember the days when a trip to the department store----anytime but especially at Christmas (AND HALLOWEEN AND EASTER!)----was an exciting "event".
