Announcing ALL THINGS COOKERY, KITCHEN & TABLE #11...a new series here at the blog for all you cooking enthusiasts out there---recipes, tips, local shopping, interesting links....we'll keep it light and joyful...click on the photos and links. This post is all about.......cranberries, pumpkin, acorn squash and the colors of fall for your table! CLICK ON THE PHOTOS AND LINKS.

One of our absolute favorite sides---HENRIETTA'S CRANBERRY SALAD. This is amazing with any type of fowl---pork as well---and even pairs nicely with full-bodied broiled fish dishes.

It's also great served as a spread for toasted pita triangles.

Add a tablespoon or two (or three) of a really good Madeira for a truly grown-up taste (but that is totally optional--it is wonderful as is).  See the recipe at https://familychristmasonline.com/recipies/salads/cranberry_salad/cranberry_salad.htm

AND...AMAZINGLY MOIST CRANBERRY BREAD---one of the best recipes ever from  https://asideofsweet.com/amazingly-moist-cranberry-bread-recipe/

AND...FOR THE VEGANS....A VEGAN CRANBERRY BREAKFAST BREAD FROM HOLY COW  https://holycowvegan.net/vegan-cranberry-breakfast-bread/

AND VEGAN CRANBERRY BREAKFAST SCONES, ALSO FROM HOLY COW https://holycowvegan.net/vegan-cranberry-sourdough-scones/

Love love love this one---it did NOT last long!

See this amazing recipe at https://www.theseasonedmom.com/easy-pumpkin-streusel-coffee-cake

Our second favorite dessert--PUMPKIN BARS---this recipe from Goya is perfect. Click here.

With or without the frosting.

Love Acorn Squash---and even better when it's done in fifteen minutes and still tastes fab!  Great all by itself or paired with a roast chicken from APPLE FARM.  Check out this recipe for EASY 15 MINUTE MICROWAVE ACORN SQUASH from https://www.addsaltandserve.com/acorn-squash/

A LETTER FROM JOEL GINGOLD, THIS WEEK'S GAZETTE, CELL SERVICE FOR THEE, BUT NOT FOR ME - CROTON UNITED

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton-on-Hudson: our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

A LETTER FROM JOEL GINGOLD, THIS WEEK'S GAZETTE, CELL SERVICE FOR THEE, BUT NOT FOR ME - CROTON UNITED

EXCERPT: "This board seems to have unlimited hours to devote to the dog park—the dog park!!—and millions of your dollars to squander on ill-advised projects like Croton Point Avenue and Gouveia Park. Ms. Gallelli, in these pages, rightly railed against Con Ed and Altace pointing out the “critical need for TV, internet and phone services.” But where are she and her colleagues when it comes to ensuring such critical cell phone service for many of us in the village for whom it might be essential to preserve our lives? Nowhere to be found! Is her statement just gross hypocrisy? Or is it just one more example of a board that loves big projects, but has nothing but contempt for its constituents."
