HOLY NAME'S KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PRESENT SEPTA WITH $2,000 CHECK

The Holy Name of Mary Knights of Columbus presented a check for $2000.00 to the CH-SEPTA (Special Education PTA) on Friday January 27th. The Funds will be used to support an after school program for children with special needs at CET Elementary School. ACTRESS MARY TYLER MOORE HAS DIED

(CNN) Actress Mary Tyler Moore, whose eponymous 1970s series helped usher in a new era for women on television, died Wednesday at the age of 80, her longtime representative Mara Buxbaum said.

"Today beloved icon Mary Tyler Moore passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine," she said. REMEMBERING AVA GARDNER

Who died this date in  1990--courtesy of our friends ay European Film Star Postcards:

American actress Ava Gardner (1922-1990) was signed to a contract by MGM in 1941 and appeared mainly in small roles until she drew attention with her performance in The Killers (1946). 

She became one of Hollywood's leading stars and was considered one of the most beautiful women of her day. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in Mogambo (1953). She appeared in several high-profile films from the 1950s to 1970s, both in Hollywood and Europe. She continued to act regularly until 1986, four years before her death at the age of 67.
