Schuylerville farmer Alexandra Fasulo had just settled into the idyllic acreage she purchased in 2023 when Gov. Croton-on-Hudson resident Richard Masur was among three Senate District 40 residents honored in recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month for their contributions in uplifting others and supporting their communities.
Also honored at the commemorative ceremony held on Sunday, May 17, at New Castle Town Hall were Chappaqua resident Michele Gregson and Somers resident Paul Hahn. State Sen. Pete Harckham, who presented proclamations to honorees, was joined by New Castle Town Supervisor Vicky Tipp, Councilwoman Jennifer Naparstek Klein, Town Clerk Christina Papes, and the honorees’ friends and families. AT LAST AND JUST IN TIME FOR FATHER'S DAY 2028---ALEX BERENSON'S "THE FATHERHOOD MANIFESTO
In December, I told you I was writing what I called a “manifesto on fatherhood” - an argument against the way our culture has devalued fathers and stoicism in parenting, combined with specific tips about ways to be a better dad.
Now the piece, called (wait for it) “The Fatherhood Manifesto,” is done. It’s over 11,000 words - 50 booklet-sized pages. I’m releasing it June 7, two weeks before Father’s Day. I’ll have more to say about it, including an excerpt, and why I wrote it, soon.
For now, let me say this: Over decades as an author and journalist, I have learned that when I (or anyone) puts out something like this - a fresh, provocative, unexpected piece of writing - there’s no way to predict how it will do. Readers may embrace the idea, or ignore it. No one can know until it’s set free in the world.

ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE CROTON LIONS CLUB
Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

The Croton Lions were busy again last weekend at CVS and Bagels on the Hudson selling 50/50 Raffle tickets. Last year the winner received $1400 and the club the other $1400. Those funds went back to the Croton community through the local disaster relief effort (fire victims), scholarships, LionsSEE vision program, Croton boosters, police and EMS, free medical equipment loans and almost 30 more charities.
This year, the Lions were able to increase the amount of their three scholarships to deserving graduating CHHS seniors from $3,000 to $5,000 thanks to the generosity of our village.
There is still time to purchase raffle tickets. They are on sale at the Croton Diner anytime and at Summerfest, June 7th all day until the drawing at 5pm.

A crazed gunman who believed he was Jesus Christ pulled out a revolver and opened fire outside the White House Saturday night, before he was quickly taken down by a barrage of shots from the Secret Service, sources said. Nasire Best, 21, fired at a checkpoint at about 6:10 p.m. after being seen pacing in a strange manner up and down 17th St. Northwest, sources told The Post.
