MORE THOUGHTS ON JULY 4TH, 2021--PART TWO

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

This year's July 4th holiday was truly a blessing....So much has changed.....and in so many ways...from this time last year.  There's mostly happy news...but...trigger alert! YOU CAN READ ALL ABOUT  IT IN PART ONE HEREClick on the photos and links......

And now....a little July 4th morning surprise------your editor was greeted by a pair of wild turkeys on the property (click on the photo)---and was reminded that Benjamin Franklin NEVER really did propose that the turkey be our national symbol---as opposed to the eagle....you can read more about that Franklin myth here.

ON THE "IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK" FRONT, several friends took time off from the kitchen and headed over to FINO RESTAURANT'S ANNUAL JULY 4TH BARBECUE...

And they haven't stopped talking about it since---wonderful food and service. And good old-fashioned patriotism too.

And while THE GRANDSTAND took the day off to celebrate, we did get to see their July 4th and newest window "installation".

In case you missed it, check out the very cool "fireworks" video here.

P.S. WAS GIFTED AN AMAZING RED, WHITE & BLUE COOKIE TRAY FROM BAKED BY SUSAN.  PERFECT WAY TO END THE DAY WITH A CUP OF BLACK RIFLE COFFEE--while we watched..........

"1776"-- WITH CROTON'S HOWARD DA SILVA--REPRISING HIS STAGE ROLE IN THE FILM VERSION OF THE PLAY AS BEN FRANKLIN---ON TCM---READ AND SEE MORE ABOUT DA SILVA AND HIS CROTON CONNECTION HERE.
