Announcing ALL THINGS COOKERY, KITCHEN & TABLE --THIS IS #23.....a new series here at the blog for all you cooking enthusiasts out there---recipes, tips, local shopping, interesting links....we'll keep it light and joyful...AND NOW.....in no particular order....EVERYTHING CROTON'S ALL THINGS COOKERY, KITCHEN & TABLE #23---ASSORTED SUMMER "STUFF".... ENJOYING FRESH GARDEN BOUNTY, SALADS, COCKTAILS & MORE

FIRST UP, A WONDERFUL REFRESHING SORREL RUM PUNCH recipe----perfect for summer months---and courtesy of THRILLIST--AND LOLO'S SEAFOOD SHACK, SORREL RUM PUNCH---CLICK HERE

Delicious with or without the alcohol.

Oh and you'll need SORREL--IT'S DRIED HIBISCUS FLOWER PARTS NOT THE GREEN UNRELATED STUFF--find it at Walmart or in Caribbean food markets.  I always add ginger ale.

Speaking of ginger ale, I've mentioned this brand--Hal's---before---and have used in in Easter punches---that sort of thing---but it really is quite good all by itself---and in the above Sorrel Punch recipe.

You can find it in Apple Farm, either the Croton or Peekskill locations.

Speaking of ginger ale, you MUST try Al Roker's Sticky Ginger Ale Ribs Recipe--finished off on the grill---just amazing.  For this one I prefer to use Schweppe's Ginger Ale; it just seems to create a deeper flavor when "cooked".

The mixture is also fantastic on slightly/quickly parboiled first--then grilled--Asparagus. But you need to watch it for burning.

With parsely, tomatoes, mint and more so readily available, it's time to make your own...Tabbouleh / Tabouleh / Tabouli Parsley Salad---check out this recipe from Glen and friends, one our favorite chefs; click here.  Love this with chicken, lamb, pork or even just spooned over a great heirloom or beefsteak tomato.  Add some crusty bread and you're all set.  Prep time is a snap.   I think it best to give this at least four hours in the refrigerator to really deepen the flavors although two is fine.

Looking for a really different experience---check out BALLOTIN ORIGINAL CHOCOLATE WHISKEY CURRENTLY AT VAN WYCK WINES & LIQUORS--READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE.

Just LOVE this stuff!  Check out some cocktail  recipes at their site....

Or just serve it over your favorite vanilla ice cream....

VERY GROWN-UP!
