Longtime Classical WQXR/NEW YORK host LLOYD MOSS died SATURDAY after a battle with Parkinson's disease at his home in Croton.
Condolences to family and friends of longtime Classical WQXR/NEW YORK host LLOYD MOSS, who died SATURDAY after a battle with Parkinson's disease at his home in CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY at 86, according to the station. MOSS hosted at WQXR, then owned by the NEW YORK TIMES, from 1954 through his 2006 retirement. After service in the Army with ARMED FORCES RADIO and at stations in PENNSYLVANIA, CONNECTICUT, and LONG ISLAND, he returned to his native NEW YORK CITY at the municipal station WNYC-A, then worked at the VOICE OF AMERICA before starting at WQXR as a relief announcer in 1954 and a full-timer in JUNE 1955.
