EXCERPTED: As her fame and popularity grew, so did her fortune. She purchased the house at No. 254 West 75th Street. It was the beginning of the end of the quiet times for the brick and stone residence.
Just as her fame and popularity increased her fortune, so too it increased her ego, temper and disposition. By the 1920s she was a top draw for Belasco.
