Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
In the last few months and more recently, the blog has received a number of questions regarding transgender school sports issues, CRT and certain reading requirements in the local school districts. Once again, these questions and comments are best referred to the school districts in question. That may be difficult but it is really the only way to get accurate up to date information.
Local parents---and interested readers---should know, however, that they are not alone in their concerns.
Many thanks to Croton's Tom Faranda's Folly for bringing this stunning ever-evolving Loudon, Virginia situation to light. It's one of many similar scenarios evolving across the country...this post is closed to all comments. Comments and questions must be referred to the media sources cited below:

---TRIGGER ALERT, STRONG LANGUAGE--And the required reading assignments angle: Parents condemned the Loudoun County’s school board during a May 11
meeting over explicit material in reading assignments for high school
students. Passages from Jackson’s book read by the furious parents included
characters discussing oral sex, a female character being beaten and
thrown into a closet and a sexual encounter in a classroom. The book
“#MurderTrending” by Gretchen McNeil, was also quoted, where a female
character discussed the size of a male friend’s genitalia. https://dailycaller.com/2021/05/13/loundoun-county-class-assignments-nsfw-virginia-school-board-meeting/
