YES...SILLY PUTTY IS STILL FUN!

Though it seems impossible, it's true---we recently had the absolute pleasure once again of introducing a neighbor's child to Silly Putty--yes they had heard of it before but had never seen it up close and personal. This raised the usual question: Would a child raised on today's electronics find it as interesting as we did back then? (And still do.)

Well we're happy to report that the little girl in question loved the stuff---and thought it was so much better than the pre-packaged "glow in the dark slime" that was so popular a few years back. Maybe it's the tactile sensation, or the way it picks up newspaper or comic images--or snaps crisply in half at certain angles--or bounces when rolled into a ball. 

Whatever the reason and for an hour at least, she played with something that didn't require batteries--or an electric outlet. Good enough for us. That got us to thinking about when Silly Putty first came out and....click on the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silly_Putty
