First up, remembering Sandra Dee---who died this date in 2005---an American actress... best known for her portrayal of ingénues.
Dee earned a Golden Globe Award as one of the year's most promising newcomers for her performance in Robert Wise's Until They Sail (1958). She became a teenage star for her subsequent performances in Imitation of Life and Gidget (both 1959), which made her a household name. By the late 1960s, her career had started to decline, and a highly publicized marriage to Bobby Darin (m. 1960–1967) ended in divorce. TO READ MORE, CLICK HERE

NEXT UP, a fabulous 1950's toy from Linemar--we don't know which we like better: the actual toy with the dog playing the piano or the graphics on the box! Featured in an auction many years ago at SeriousToyz. It's followed by some fun and putz-house-appropriate crepe paper trees--that you can make---you'll find the video tutorial here.
And finally a 1901 ad for silk thread---that features a wonderful pussycat graphic. Again, click on the photos and links.
Some fruits, berries and vegetables--old stock millinery bits
from Blumchen, all dating from the 1930's to the 80's--"new" old stock; see them here

Maria,
ReplyDeleteLove the crepe paper tree idea. That's not so far removed from how they make bristle trees, but green crepe paper is a lot easier to come by!
