Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
KATZ PROPERTY UPDATE ON 3/1 AGENDA---SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN TERMS JUST A WEEK LATER--NOW ONE THIRD 3 BEDROOM APARTMENTS AT AFFORDABLE/LOW INCOME HOUSING PROPOSED FOR SITE, ASSORTED DEPT. PURCHASES, ETC.
You can find the agenda for the 3/1 Board of Trustees meeting by clicking here.
Note: In the 2/18-2/24 edition of the Gazette--the affordable/low income housing projects (two buildings) being proposed for the Katz property sale to Regan Development (with significant tax breaks for decades), the apartment size allocations were broken out as follows:
11 one bedroom units, 22 two bedroom units
NOW just a week later, the agenda indicates---and no explanation has been given---a significant change has been made to the terms---there will be ONE-THIRD Three bedroom apartments: the break out is as follows:
11 one bedroom units, 11 two bedroom units and 11 Three bedroom units.
It is unknown at the present time if any other changes have been made or are forthcoming.
The rest of the agenda includes unpaid taxes, assorted department purchases, etc. etc. etc.
As always, the meetings continue to be held only by Zoom.
Again, you can find the agenda for the 3/1 Board of Trustees meeting by clicking here.
i distinctly recall that when residents brought up three bedrooms as a possibility, they were dismissed. By the way how much did we pay to settle the Katz lawsuit and how much annual taxes did we lose?
ReplyDeleteThe cost to settle the lawsuit back in 2007 was $900,000. This did not include the village's legal costs as I recall. I do not have the tax information/lost tax annual information. The Gazette 2007 archives would probably be helpful for this and the village's legal costs in addition to the settlement. You would have to contact the editor directly as the paper does not have an online presence.
