SOME MORE RECENTLY UNEARTHED BITS & PIECES ABOUT CROTON NOTABLES... STRAUSS, SWANSON AND BOTKIN. CLICK ON THE PHOTOS AND LINKS.....

First up, Peter Strauss---who got his start in the Croton Shakespeare Festival----IN THE 2000 FILM, "A FATHER'S CHOICE".

The fast-paced city life of two sisters is turned upside down when they are sent to live in the country with their father after their mother is killed.

Predictable yes, but a great family story and the kind one seldom sees these days.....more's the pity....it stars Peter Strauss, Mary McDonnell, Michelle Trachtenberg - available on Amazon - more at https://www.amazon.com/Fathers-Choice-Peter-Strauss/dp/B07PWYDDJ6/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=a+father%27s+choice&qid=1598354390&sr=8-1

Next, as many of you know, Gloria Swanson was one of Croton's most famous residents.

She lived right here in Croton for a number of years on Mt. Airy Road. (Read AND see more at https://bit.ly/1QK6VdP)

Swanson's most famous film was SUNSET BOULEVARD, which recently had its 70th anniversary--(you can read more about that here.)

We've always been fascinated with the mansion used in the movie....and one of the Everything Croton elves came across this fabulous youtube video on the since demolished building....click here

As many of you know, HOLBROOK BLINN (of Blinn Road fame) lived here in the village. A noted actor, you can read more about him here.

And check out what one of the Elves found at Walmart!  The Masked Woman Holbrook Blinn 1927 Movie Poster Masterprint!

It's apparently available for $14.99, at least for the moment---click here
