REMEMBERING PAUL MUNI

Who died this date in 1967...from our friends at European Film Star Postcards: PAUL MUNI----Paul Muni (1895-1967) was an American stage and film actor who was nominated five times for the Academy Awards. He won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Story of Louis Pasteur (William Dieterle, 1936).  During the 1930s, he was considered one of the most prestigious actors at the Warner Bros. studio, and was given the rare privilege of choosing which parts he wanted. (He also got his start in Yiddish theatre).

Your editor first saw him in THE GOOD EARTH, the adaptation of Pearl Buck's book. He was amazing, as was Louise Rainer, who won an Academy Award. Read and see much more here COURTESY OF EFSP.
