Marjorie Elizabeth Matero, a lifelong resident of Croton-on-Hudson, passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2022. She was 95. Marjorie was born on April 10, 1927 to the late Harold and Anna Mae (Tompkins) Ward. She had a joyful spirit and deep faith in God. She was a dedicated friend to all, a volunteer for many organizations, and a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved traveling, ceramics, gardening and cooking. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Pilotti and Susan Gorman, grandsons Christopher (Judy) Matero and Jason Robison. Great grandchildren Mary, Charles, Aidan, Conor, and Madelyn, and her loving caretaker Mary who spent the last 13 years by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles in 2005, and brother Edward in 2011. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 21 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, April 22 at 10am at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson.
