SERVICE INFO AND OBITUARY FOR E. CRAIG EATON

E. Craig Eaton passed away on April 21, 2022 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife Anne Turner; his children whom he never tired of bragging about Laura (Tom Lamb), Collette Cutler (Mark), and Ed (Lori); and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Jeanne (Allen), parents Edward and Helen (Johnson), brother Robert, and sister Doris Monel. Craig was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. He found a home in Croton-on-Hudson in 1968 and was happy to call it his home for the rest of his life. Craig was inducted into the Army in 1958. He served in the 38th US Infantry doing his basic training at Fort Benning, serving very briefly in Germany (he joked that the trip over on the troop ship was longer than his stay in Germany), and finished his service on Governor's Island, NY. He worked in the data processing field for New York Life Insurance Company for 44 years; working with programming computers back when that meant wiring a board all the way through Y2K. Craig had the uncanny ability to be able to fix anything without reading the instuctions, or the destructions as his young daughter once mistakenly said. Didn't matter what it was (lamp, camera, lens, lawn mower), he was able to figure out how it worked and how to fix it without reading any 'destructions'. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with family. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson. Interment will follow on Wednesday, April 27 at 11am at Bethel Cemetery, Croton-on-Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
