#46, FOR OUR FAITH-BASED READERS AND HISTORY BUFFS TOO, THE HISTORICAL JESUS, THE REMOVAL OF THE TEDDY ROOSEVELT STATUE FROM THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

For our faith-based readers and history buffs too---NUMBER 46-- one of our most widely traveled and very popular series here at Everything Croton:

MANY THANKS TO ST. AUGUSTINE CATHOLIC FOR THE HEADS-UP:

February 3rd--'The Historical Jesus: An Overview". St. Joseph's Seminary & College Public Lecture with Msgr. John Meier---click on the flyer.

Also FYI: St. Joseph's is 125 years old!

And on the removal of the Theodore Roosevelt statue from the Musueum of Natural History--a pageful of letters opposing the removal--and essentially refusing to visit the Museum ever again. SEE THEM AT https://nypost.com/2022/01/20/letters-to-the-editor-jan-21-2022/

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON TEDDY ROOSEVELT--RANKED AS ONE OF THE FIVE BEST PRESIDENTS---Roosevelt assumed the presidency at age 42 after McKinley was assassinated in September 1901. He remains the youngest person to become president of the United States. Roosevelt was a leader of the progressive movement and championed his "Square Deal" domestic policies, promising the average citizen fairness, breaking of trusts, regulation of railroads, and pure food and drugs. He prioritized conservation and established national parks, forests, and monuments intended to preserve the nation's natural resources. In foreign policy, he focused on Central America where he began construction of the Panama Canal. He expanded the Navy and sent the Great White Fleet on a world tour to project American naval power. His successful efforts to broker the end of the Russo-Japanese War won him the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize.....

  1. Thank you. My cousin, who will be visiting next week with his family, usually takes the children to the museum. He said between the "wokey-ness, Roosevelt statue removal and the crime", could we please pick out museums and such OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK CITY! So we have a full itinerary of places in Westchester and further up the line. All those tourist dollars that will be spent are upstate's gain and the city's loss. Oh well, go woke, go broke.
