To the editor:  The two Croton soccer teams in the Eastern District Soccer League faced off last Saturday under perfect weather conditions for the Croton El Classico. Croton SC beat FC Locomotive 3-1 at the Manes Soccer Field. Croton SC scored in the first half. FC Locomotive answered early in the second half, but Croton SC added two goals to gain the win.

Both of the Croton teams play on Saturdays. The league hosts games throughout the Hudson Valley for adult soccer players, with 90 minute games played according to FIFA rules.

This coming Saturday, FC Locomotive will host LaGrange SC at Manes Field. On Saturday the 28th, they will host New Paltz and Croton SC will travel to Putnam Valley.

Whether you are interested as a spectator or want to come out and play, everyone is invited to support the Croton soccer teams. It is always fun, and there is no admission charge.
