A FABULOUS 1948 CHRISTMAS AD FOR THE "WATCHMAKERS OF SWITZERLAND"

We couldn't resist the ad to the right from 1948--for the "Watchmakers of Switzerland".

It has all the 40's bells and whistles--Dad in his smoking jacket, complete with tie(!), the roaring fire, the matching knick-knacks on the mantle, the Christmas tree...

The text, which was too faded to scan properly, read:  How many minutes till Christmas...click on the ad to see it in all its post-WWII glory.

  1. It's hard for some people to believe now but a nice wristwatch was considered a very special present.
