EMAIL FROM SCHOOL DISTRICT SENT OUT LAST NIGHT

Dear Croton-Harmon School Community, Earlier today, our High School received a submission from our online anonymous reporting system.  The anonymous submission stated that "someone has threatened" to commit an act of violence during school this week. While the submission provided very limited, non-specific information, we contacted the Croton Police Department that initiated an investigation that is ongoing.

Our first two days of school have been very successful, and we look forward to welcoming students again tomorrow as we continue normal operations. The Croton Police Department will be providing an additional police presence at each of our buildings. The Croton-Harmon School District takes the safety of all students and staff very seriously and recognizes the need to be transparent regarding incidents that may impact our school community.  We will always act out of an abundance of caution.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s principal. Thank you, Dr. Deborah O’Connell, Superintendent of Schools
