Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our
history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of
worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
From the Everything Croton mailbox, a special request: A
reader was packing up her Mom's house and came across the Croton Watch her
father had given her one Christmas. Feeling nostalgic, she's asked for an index
to all the "Croton Watch" stories featured here at the blog.
For those who don't know, Croton Watch a.k.a. Croton Time Corp., was a
prominent feature on North Riverside Avenue. And so, by special request:

Thank you so much for this. I had my first job there as a sort of gopher.
ReplyDeleteCroton Watch resold refurbished or unclaimed watches left for repair. I bought one in the mid 60s when we moved to Croton. It's still working and never been repaired. By comparison, I have other watches like Seiko that were far more expensive but they don't work anymore. My Croton Watch was a wind up while the others were battery operated. That may explain the problem. Regardless, my Croton Watch has always served me well as a reliable backup.
