NEW YORK'S DMVS WILL CLOSE IN FEBRUARY---HERE'S WHY

The agency announced on Friday the shutdown, which will take place from Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. through Feb. 17. All state DMV operations - including offices, online transactions and phone services - will be unavailable during that time to allow for the rollout of a "new, modernized technology system," the agency wrote in a prepared statement. Operations will resume as normal on Feb. 18.
