ANOTHER ONE OF CROTON'S BOHEMIANS--JANE BURR--DROWSY SAINT INN

1918--Click on the images below. Burr although unknown today, was an established writer in her time--especially for THE GLORIOUS HOPE and other works. For those who don't know, Jane Burr--her nom du plume--was born Rosalind Mae Guggenheim. In 1917 she purchased the Post Road Inn (located on the property across the street from the Holy Name of Mary Church and now long gone) in Croton-on-Hudson. She renamed the inn the Drowsy Saint and hosted many well known literary notables. There will be more on that but for now READ MORE HERE
