From neighbors who shovel and salt your sidewalk to running an errand for you when you're down with the flu, Croton still retains some aspects of what drew us all here in the first place (when it isn't demanding philosophical obedience to the latest narrative but I digress).
Recently a friend has had some minor and annoying health issues---we are happy to report that things ARE getting better.
And so none of us were surprised when everyone who stepped up to help her got a quart of lentil soup personally delivered on a day when it would do us all the most good----and conveyed across our well-plowed streets by "Olde Reliable"---the family Flexible Flyer sled! She has kept four. Your editor bought one of them at a community tag sale.
You can find the basic recipe she used-----tweaked here and there----at EverythingCroton: SOUP SEASON PART THREE
And since sledding opportunities will be out there for some time to come---see EverythingCroton: TOP SLEDDING SPOTSAnd many thanks to the DPW and all the village volunteers.
