SOME MORE RECENTLY UNEARTHED BITS & PIECES ABOUT CROTON NOTABLES: HOWARD DA SILVA, INEZ MILHOLLAND AND LENORE ULRIC

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton -- our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

SOME MORE RECENTLY UNEARTHED BITS & PIECES ABOUT CROTON NOTABLES: HOWARD DA SILVA, INEZ MILHOLLAND & LENORE ULRIC. Click on the photos and links.

First up, from 1978, Croton's Howard Da Silva at the Queens Community College production of OLIVER.  It's followed by a link to Da Silva singing Little Tin Box from the musical FIORELLO by way of Youtube and HBO, Standing Room Only: Showstoppers June 22, 1980; see it here

Next up, famous suffragette Inez Milholland, one of Croton's Original Bohemians, via THE DAY BOOK 1916--"How Leap Year Girl Should Propose, as Told by Famous Suffragette Who Did..."

AND....In his CHRONICLES OF CROTON'S BOHEMIANS, the late historian Robert Scott wrote this about Milholland:

On March 3, 1913, a statuesque woman clad in a flowing white cape and riding a white horse was the leader of a giant women's suffrage parade down Washington’s Pennsylvania Avenue.  She carried a streaming banner reading, "Forward into light."
Not quite 27 years old, Inez Milholland already had an impressive record of accomplishments.

And finally, here's Croton's Lenore Ulric, circa 1922, in one of her most famous roles----TIGER ROSE.

It's also available on DVD at Amazon (with Forest Stanley) here.

And here are "other bits and pieces" we have unearthed about Croton notables that you may have missed:
