MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

As always, some wonderful new finds, oldies but goodies, special requests and more. Click on the photos and links.

A blast from the past---2015 to be precise--another little jewel of a putz house by artisan Howard Lamey. See it from start to finish here.

It's followed by Blumchem's latest Easter/Spring offering: tissue paper festooning. Made in the good old USA.

25 feet per roll. You'll find it here.

And here's Blumchem's instructions for making the frilly egg nest shown in the photo:

That's followed by a simply amazing 1880 ad for McCobb's Chocolate---complete with owl drinking a piping hot cup! Oh those whimsical Victorians!  And after that, a 1950's Davy Crockett pencil case, from a previous auction at Croton's own SERIOUS TOYZ, which closed a few years back.  Again, click on the photos.

Some thoughts on the "new" LED Christmas lights; ah--the electric bill--your editor, whose house is festooned with lights every year front and back--is now using about 60% LED--and that's as far as it's going to go. There IS a difference in the electric bill by at least 55% ...still we simply can't give up those vintage incandescent-type Chrismas lights--or the old fashioned blow-molds...the shapes, the colors, yada-yada...and like so many of you, we continue the hunt all year round.

Speaking of vintage blow-molds, one of our favorite sites is down again--sigh--blowmoldsrus.webs.com/

And so...here's a blow-mold Flickr gallery from friends for your viewing pleasure--lots of vintage--and some newer pieces https://www.flickr.com/groups/970744@N24/

To the reader who is looking to reproduce a putz-like airport for her Christmas village, there are two toy examples at this link--just keep scrolling down the page once you get there--click here
