On this day in 1966 the British film "Born Free"--based on the book by Joy Adamson--was released. It starred Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers. It was a smash success with a popular theme song by Matt Monro.
In recent months, this blog has once again been beset with comments seeking to "cancel" this movie (yep,YET another one). Your editor is not going to elaborate on the usual spurious reasons. Let it simply suffice to say that it is never going to happen at this blog.
