ALL THINGS COOKERY, KITCHEN & TABLE #47 -- TIME TO START PLANNING THE EASTER MEAL

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Announcing ALL THINGS COOKERY, KITCHEN & TABLE #47...a new series here at the blog for all you cooking enthusiasts out there---recipes, tips, local shopping, interesting links....we'll keep it light and joyful...when possible.....click on the photos and links.

Yes some of us are focused on Lenten meal options at the moment (click here for those LENTEN OPTIONS in #46)---but a few of us are already thinking about the Easter meal.

(For those who are unsure, Easter is April 17th this year.)

Let's face it---with inflation, gas prices, political machinations, scandals and more----the holiday seems to take extra planning this year.  Everything is so much more expensive.

One thing many people will simply not give up, however, and no matter how much the cost has escalated, is the tradition of an Easter ham.  Here's a great slow SLOW COOKER HAM WITH ORANGE GLAZE recipe that we tried last year.....so good!

And for those who don't do ham but still want a pork recipe that is elegant enough for Easter dinner and will feed a small army---check out these GARLIC PORK CHOPS IN CREAMY MUSHROOM SAUCE AT EATWELL 101.

On to some tasty side dishes---here's 70---YES SEVENTY TASTY OPTIONS from THE PIONEER WOMAN---you're bound to find something that's just right for you----we love the TWICE BAKED POTATO CASSEROLE AND CARROT SALAD---some very economical choices in these troubled times----click here.

And check out these BACON WRAPPED ASPARAGUS PUFFS FROM SIMPLE AND SEASONAL HERE.

So you need some inspiration for that Easter tablescape----here's a youtube video with FIFTY ideas from SUNNY SIDE DESIGN.   You're bound to find something in your price point---and/or new uses for things you already have.  CLICK HERE.

And don't forget to check out the seasonal offerings from UPPER VILLAGE BLOOMS, DOUBLE DOCS DESIGN AND MELITA'S  HOME.

And remember that local thrift shops can be a great resource.  Here's the updated list.
