'Bébel' has died today, 6 September 2021, in Paris. Jean-Paul Belmondo
(1933-2021) was a big comedy and action star in France from the
mid-1960s till the mid-1980s, but he was initially associated with the
Nouvelle Vague, the French New Wave of the 1960s. Despite his
unconventional looks, including a broken nose, he was often polled as
one of the sexiest men in the world. For nearly 50 years Belmondo
remained one of the most popular and best-loved personalities in France.
