MEMBERS OF CROTON'S ALL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT COMPLETE "BAILOUT" RE-CERTIFICATION
This past Wednesday night, members of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department completed their annual “bailout” recertification.Interior Firefighters in our department are equipped with an emergency escape system, which consists of a hook, rope and descent control device which allows a member to “bail out” of a window if conditions rapidly deteriorate during structural firefighting. Having this equipment is important, but conducting training like this - which helps create “muscle memory” in case it is ever needed - could mean saving the life of one of our own.
