The Bertoia Annual Spring Auction starts today--4/8--goes through tomorrow 4/9...you can see the catalog, bidding info, etc. by clicking here. This hybrid auction features American and European tin toys, cast iron toys, banks and doorstops, pressed steel transportation toys, comic character and Disney toys, Schoenhut, teddy bears, dolls and automatons, and a large grouping of Christmas, Easter and Halloween. To the right, you will find three snaps from their recent press release.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the items featured in this auction reflect the times they were created in. If that sort of thing gives you the vapors, go no further. At this blog, "woke commentary" will be incinerated on sight.
For everyone else, the trains and vintage Christmas alone are worth the trip but really it's just a fascinating auction.
BTW, THEIR SPRING MAY 2021 SIGNATURE SHOW (Friday & Saturday | May 21-22, 2021) will feature the Train & Toy collection of the late Paul Cole. With a stellar train collection spoken of around the world and a massive toy collection rivaled by few, the auction series of the late Paul Cole will make for an exciting year of collecting. More details to come…
