AND NOW SOME SCENES FROM A PERFECT EASTER 2021 IN CROTON

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Easter 2021 came early this year---and as life returns to more normal days, many of us gathered with friends and family throughout the Easter weekend.  The last evenings of Passover 2021 were winding down too--and the grey weather slowly gave way to brighter sunshine and warmer temps. Throughout the Hudson Valley, many home kitchens---and local businesses too---were humming.....and it was wonderful to see an abundance of local churches offering very well-attended in-person Easter services once again.

It's also...OSPREY season...up and down the river the Ospreys were everywhere.

And back at the DPW Truck Washing Station too....(see this gorgeous--and somewhat "mean-looking" bird there early Easter morning.)  A friend believes it is female.

BTW, we stopped at Frank & Joe's Harmon deli for some of the BEST coffee around before embarking on our birding run.  We love this place---their smoothies and home-made mozzarella are also just excellent.  Check them out at  https://www.harmon-deli.com/ or visit their FB page here. p.s. They're also becoming locally famous for their T-Bird & Egplant Parm.

We made sure to fulfill a request from a former resident now living in Florida for an Easter shot of 'old Croton'--- and what was left after "urban renewal and Route 9" took out most of what constituted the lower village.

You may also enjoy seeing some photos from the opening reception of The Croton Historical Society's exhibit from a few years ago: GET READY FOR AN EARTHQUAKE, THE CONSTRUCTION OF U.S. ROUTE 9; click here.

We saw friends and family on Saturday and so opted for an early Easter dinner at that Croton Institution---the Croton Colonial Restaurant and Diner.

Excellent filet mignon with a side of mashed and the best brown gravy.....

And for your editor, the BEST broiled salmon---make sure you ask for a side of the diner's Honey Mustard Dressing---the perfect accompaniment.

And for dessert, we highly recommend the baked goods and specialty cheesecakes from  JUNCTION JT's FOOD MARKET.  We had the carrot cake and "cotton candy cheesecake.

Located in the former "Mike and Analie's Croton Deli" a.k.a. "the German Deli", this wonderful new addition to the Upper Village specializes in Pan-Asian Cuisine, Bubble Tea, gluten-free items and much more.

ALL AND ALL A PERFECT EASTER 2021 IN CROTON-ON-HUDSON.  Alleluia and amen.

Hope to see you all next year.
