CROTON FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING AT MONTROSE VA HOSPITAL--3/30/2021
Last night, Department Training was held at the Montrose VA Campus reviewing various search techniques and MAYDAY procedures. We began by reviewing our new Large Area Search Ropes being put into service and how they are to be used. After this orientation, members broke into groups taking turns working on rope-asssisted searches as well as traditional search methods. In addition to the above, our members went over MAYDAY procedures - which is a radio signal for when firefighters are in distress - and how everyone on scene should react to these emergency situations. Thanks to the VAFD for helping us coordinate this drill, to the Milwood FD for providing an Engine & crew to cover our district and to Training Division members Altamura, Ferguson & Munson for running this drill.
