A fab post from our friends at European Film Star Postcards on American actress and singer Ann Sheridan
Ann Sheridan (1915-1967) worked
from 1934 in film and later on television. She could both play the girl
next door and the tough-as-nails dame. Known as the 'Oomph Girl', she
became one of the most glamorous women in Hollywood. Her notable films
include Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) with James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart, They Drive by Night (1940) with George Raft and Bogart, Nora Prentiss (1947), and I Was a Male War Bride (1949) with Cary Grant.
