--FROM 2019,  NEW YORK AQUARIUM, CURRENTLY CLOSED, EXPECTED TO RE-OPEN SOON......ATLANTIC STURGEON DEBUT: The New York Aquarium is now home to five Endangered Atlantic sturgeon. These fish were once plentiful in the Hudson River, and the aquarium has been designated as a satellite research facility by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to educate visitors about the importance of protecting this historically important species.
