CROTON POINT AVENUE PROJECT & BIKE LANE, MID-JULY UPDATE

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

A mid-July update...some days, the traffic mess is epic, with highway back-ups at the Route 9 North entrance, lane reductions during sidewalk construction crossing the highway and traffic all the way past South Riverside and at the entrance to the ShopRite Plaza, numerous heavy equipment, exit ramp at 9 near the train station significantly narrowed as some sort of drainage work is ongoing, etc.

Sidewalks and the alleged "bike lane"(?) have considerably narrowed Croton Point Avenue's four lanes across the board. Large trucks seem to have difficulty staying in their own now narrowed lane.

As always, go slow, be careful.

  1. Thanks. I will never cross the highway on the other side with the new sidewalk. I fear death too much.

    1. The photo shows only one of the highway places you have to cross. There's another on that side. No thanks.
