BY SPECIAL REQUEST, ONE MORE TIME------THESE "CROTON" BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKING--Another reader was reminiscing about her first pair of white knee-high boots--bought right here in Croton--"back in the 70's"--but couldn't recall the name of the store.
"I saved for over six weeks to buy them and thought they were the coolest. They were beautiful, "imported from Italy" and turned out to be so painful, I wore them only twice. My first lesson in not everything that glitters is gold. Would love to see something about the store if you have it."
Your editor's response: Could it have been THE VILLAGE BOOTERY---or the JO-CRISS BOOTERY----click here for that and other 1970's Croton businesses.
Thanks I missed your response. Jo-CRISS was the one I was looking for. Thank you!
