MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

As always, some wonderful finds, oldies but goodies and more. Click on the photos and links.

It's easy to understand why so many of us think that post-war Japan made some of the BEST battery operated toys. Check out this "Dolly" Seamstress/ Dressmaker, featured in a past auction at Croton's own SeriousToyz.com. Her head moved, her embroidering action was illuminated, with body composed of fabric over tin, circa 1950's, manufactured by Nomura.  She's followed by this outstanding 1950's made in Japan battery operated donkey, with light up eyes too, also from a past auction at SeriousToyz.

It's followed by one of our favorite repro Dolly Toy Co. putz houses----by putz artisan Lynn D.

For those who don't know, Dolly houses were American-made and noted for their "windows" which featured candles, wreaths and other Christmas scenes.

And finally, a great 1905 Doll House Ad from the Max L. Keith Lumber Exchange.  Again click on the photos and links.

  1. We had the donkey. Kind of creepy with the lighted eyes!
