Always worth a second and third look--yes, it's new but we love the effect on this large putz church--it's part of the
outstanding 2014 Christmas display from flickr friend,
MatthewUnd, all rights reserved. See much more--it's all very charming and done with great
care--lots of new putz houses too and plenty of inspiration--just click here.
It's followed by a most curious 1871 ad for the new and improved "Merry Christmas Stove" (clever marketing!?), as well as a 1934 ad featuring Santa Claus and Corona typewriters--and a VERY EFFECTIVE piece of 1930's illustration for Lifesavers Candy---when "lime" was a new and exciting flavor! Again, click on the photos and links.

Not many folks realize it today, but Lifesaver candy was so called because kids couldn't choke on them like they frequently did on other hard candies of the day. Thanks for another great issue!
