CROTON IN 1890 FROM THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY FACEBOOK PAGE

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

CROTON IN 1890 FROM THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY FACEBOOK PAGE
This is a detail of a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey map of the Croton area in 1890, when the village was still called Croton Landing. The survey shows the Croton River two years before construction of the New Croton Dam began. The year after the survey was made, residents started the process to change the name of the village from Croton Landing to Croton-on-Hudson. SEE THE MAP AT Facebook
