MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

As always, some wonderful new finds, oldies but goodies, special requests and more.  Click on the photos and links.

First up, by special request, and from Matthew Und—one of his amazing 2016 Christmas villages—while the putz churches are new, they’re still beautiful!  WE JUST LOVE THIS CUT-OUT EFFECT.

That's followed by the Easter 2017 putz village, featuring many new and vintage pieces.  And yes, we're already planning this year's display.

And finally the Bertoia Spring Auction--featuring toys, trains, HOLIDAY, bears, and more, is April 8th and 9th.  The Santas and trains alone are worth the visit. But there is also so much "architectural" inspiration for your future putz house projects in many of the toys and banks.

Here are some snaps from their PRESS RELEASE (READ IT HERE) AND DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG HERE

As always, some of these items reflect the times they were created in.  If that sort of thing has the potential to give you the vapors, do NOT go any further.  For everyone else, click on the press release and catalog links above.

March 17th was St. Patrick's Day...but it was also.......

The date in 1960 when one of the first French New Wave films, "Breathless", directed by Jean-Luc Godard, starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg was released in France.

Your editor would not see it for the first time until 1971 at a long-ago closed Manhattan "art movie house".... we all felt terribly "grown up"... READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE.

As some of you know, Gloria Swanson was one of Croton's most notable residents: here she is 1931's INDISCREET; click here

  1. Matthew's vignette is wonderful because of the crossover from Christmas to winter! Since it's a winter theme you could leave it out and not put it away until late March (In NJ anyways!) because it's still relevant. Your relatives could not make catty remarks about a red / green theme being out of date! I love this little village!
