First up, we were reminded recently that the designer of the iconic, beloved midcentury flamingo lawn ornament -- Don Featherstone -- died in June of 2015....Click here to read more. 

Which brought us of course to Howard Lamey's interpretation of a vintage made in Japan putz house--complete with new "coconut"--and of course, pink flamingos....an oldie but goodie worth looking at again. 

It's followed by a fabulous postcard of Alida Valli and Farley Granger in the 1954 film, Senso.
