Phyllis Reilly returned to writing after a ten-year absence in 2017 and started the Croton Writers' Group, a gathering place where writers could meet and share their writing. She is a late bloomer, and at 77, her quirky style and subject matter got editors’ attention. Her work has been published in a variety of literary magazines. Brooklyn born and raised, her stories reflect her childhood in the 1950s and are the backdrop for some surprisingly dark beautiful writing that is filled with vivid Imagery and descriptions that are as poetic as they are powerful. Her Irish wit is evident in her writing. Some of her stories are flat-out funny, while others reflect the absurd universe that was her child¬hood and are heart-wrenching and haunting.
