As always, some wonderful finds, oldies but goodies, special requests and more---because it's that most wonderful time of the year---click on the photos and links.
But first...from 1967....yes, it's HOT DR. PEPPER TIME...
Our grandmother loved this---and it was something children were allowed until they were considered "old enough" to drink coffee....
You do NOT boil it, just heat it up short of the bubbles and add a slice of lemon---non-purists throw in an optional cinnamon stick, your editor doesn't.....it's an acquired taste for some, quite habitual in the winter months for others!
That's followed by a 1952 Art Cohen Christmas Display ad--originally in black and white, it was crying out for a little photoshop color by your editor!
Oh for a time machine to go back and get some of this stuff! For fans of vintage Beistle Christmas Honeycomb items--and prefer a source other than eBAY---ETSY has quite a bit available.
This 1978 Biestle Santa for example--while still available of course (click here, but I suspect it will go fast)
JUST GO TO ETSY and type in 'VINTAGE BIESTLE CHRISTMAS"---prepare to be wowed in many cases---and the prices on some of these items are not bad at all.
That's followed by a Union Products Vintage Santa Blow Mold, with church by putz artisan Karl Fey, vintage tins left and right, and a large 1950's Celluloid deer. A close-up of the vintage Macy's tin can be found at MACYS TIN | maria | Flickr
Again click on the photos and links.
