First up, from 1971, the very authentic--and quite warming to the soul---Athole Brose.
A neighbor back in the day, of Welsh and Scot extraction, used to pull out his wife's crystal punch bowl every Christmas Eve and invite us all in for a taste. Of course, the children were served appropriately RED Shirley Temples in those ubiquitous plastic Champagne glasses.
It made some of us feel very grown-up and festive.
