ON THIS DAY IN FILM AND TELEVISION HISTORY 1932, THE MUMMY WAS RELEASED

ON THIS DAY IN FILM AND TELEVISION HISTORY 1932 "The Mummy" directed by Karl Freund and starring Boris Karloff was released in the US.  It was the 1st Mummy horror film.

British actor Boris Karloff (1887-1969) was one of the true icons of the Horror cinema. He portrayed Frankenstein's monster in Frankenstein (1931), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), and Son of Frankenstein (1939), which resulted in his immense popularity. In the following decades he worked in countless Horror films, but also in other genres, both in Europe and Hollywood.
