As always, some wonderful new finds, oldies but goodies, special requests and more.  Click on the photos and links.

First up, an ad for Connie Francis from the December 1965 Life Magazine. She's followed by these fab vintage catalog scans for "Kewpie" pillows to embroider or purchase complete, from a circa 1914 needlework catalog.  And finally a scene from the 2021 French Christmas Putz and "Notre Maria", that maverlous Cathedral by Howard Lamey and a 1930's castle repro from Karl Fey.  There will be more.

A LITTLE SATIN CHRISTMAS BALL HISTORY...THE UNLIKELY ORNAMENT KING OF GASTONIA The Unlikely Ornament King of Gastonia - The true story of how a Jewish man from Gastonia became the world’s largest maker of Christmas ornaments, and so much more. Written by Jeremy Markovich

Yes, it is obviously ironic that Marshall Rauch, a Jewish man, was once the largest Christmas ornament maker in the world. He is 93 years old, and has heard — and told — every possible joke about it. The man put a doormat emblazoned with “Shalom” outside one of his ornament factories in Gastonia. He once called himself the Jewish Santa Claus. “All my friends used to tease me: ‘How do you feel about making ornaments for the Christian religion?’ ” Rauch says. “I said, ‘I have no problem. One of our guys started Christianity.’ MORE AT https://www.ourstate.com/the-unlikely-o ... kI4LJ3R1O4
