MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

So many wonderful things to show you--oldies but goodies, special requests and more.. As always, click on the photos and links:

First, a very charming Disney rendering--Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs--via a 1938 storybook from a previous auction at Croton's own SeriousToyz.com

And in case you missed it, our friends at EFSP assembled an amazing cache of vintage postcards produced for the European market from the film; see them here

Next up, from the 1936 Woodwell Holiday Catalog, some of their Christmas lighting offerings--Glo-Lite, whirling shades! And so much more.

They're followed by a special request: Next up, a gorgeous vintage putz house, courtesy of Pete Oehmen with those amazing pink foil windows.

In fact, a new collector of vintage made in Japan putz houses recently asked if foil replacement windows were available anywhere.

The answer is yes--and in assorted colors too. Click here and keep scrolling down the screen for all the info

NEXT A PRE-1923 CUT-OUT SANTA, FRONT AND BACK, MEANT TO BE A "STANDEE"/FLATTIE, courtesy of LOC. Really like the graphics on this one.

And finally, a fabulous Christmas tree photo card, vintage, courtesy of Calsidy, if we had to venture a guess, pre-1930...again, click on the photos and enjoy.

Lisa found a great blog--Restaurant-ing Through History--filled with fascinating ads, storylines and more; check it out here

A reader has been pricing vintage toy cash registers and wondered if there were any out there that mimicked the look but were made out of---cardboard!  Sort of "faux tinplate"---we're intrigued and looking.  Will keep you all posted.

We just love visiting and re-visiting this department store blog! Seems to be only for Portland--some fab stuff here -- Bloomingdales, Macy's, The Bon Marche, when a trip to a department stre esecially at Chritmas, was an adventure!
