New from our friends at European Film Star Postcards: All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
The American anti-war-epic All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) was based on the novel Im Westen nichts neues by Erich Maria Remarque. It is a realistic and harrowing account of warfare in World War I. The film starred Lew Ayres and Louis Wolheim (CLICK ON THE DUTCH POSTCARD IMAGE), was directed by Lewis Milestone and produced by Universal. It was the first film to win Oscars for both Best Film and Best Director. READ AND SEE MUCH MORE HERE.
