PURPLE MARTIN COLONY, CROTON POINT, UPDATE JULY 2018--CONGRATULATIONS!

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

PURPLE MARTIN COLONY AT CROTON POINT, UPDATE JULY 2018

FIRST FROM 2017: "We were thrilled when Saw Mill River Audubon approached us with the hope of establishing a Purple Martin colony here at Croton Point Park. So, we hooked them up with a premiere pole & gourd system", says Rob, whose shop also donated a portion of the set-up. "This is a first for the area. We're hopeful for its success, and what a coup it would be if that occurs this year."

  1. This is so exciting. And when these birds have their full color, they are beautiful. I remember the fantastic martin houses that used to be on the Rockefeller estate but never ever saw any martins. This is great news. Kudos to Feed the Birds and Saw Mill.
